Black Crowned Night Heron Killing and Eating Cattle Egret Chick

Odd behavior of a Black Crowned Night Heron eating a cattle egret chick whole in an rookery. Dallas, Texas June 1, 2013. The Black Crowned Night Heron has a nest in the same tree as other nesting birds including Snowy Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Tri-Colored Herons and White Ibis. I have never seen this behavior in smaller herons acting as predators in such a way.
