From Migrant Farmer to Future Teacher
If you go by statistics, Raquel Pérez wasn’t supposed to be a success story. She wasn’t supposed to be an educational inspiration. Raquel is a migrant farmworker from one of the poorest regions in the country. She never experienced a complete school year in one state. And yet Raquel is a success. She is an inspiration. And soon, she will stand before a classroom of students and show by example that they too can achieve their dreams.
Check out Raquel’s story and video of the road she has traveled, what kept her going when the odds were against her, and why her journey matters to the future of Texas.
