Today we’re taking a kick and snare pattern transforming it by filling in the missing 16th notes on the hi-hat.

The kick and snare stay separate — which instantly turns this into a clean, punchy linear pattern that feels smooth, modern, and super-fun to play! 🥁🔥

This hack is perfect for building speed, control, subdivision awareness, and developing a more articulate right-hand hi-hat technique.

It’s also a great way to upgrade your groove vocabulary without changing the groove itself — just fill in the holes and let the pattern evolve!
