Sicilian Food: Sicilian Sweets and their Fascinating Story
Take a sweet tour with us! Elise Magistro, PhD in Italian, tells us the fascinating story of how Sicilian sweets evolved. It starts with the Arabs bringing sugarcane, and goes to the convents, and finally ends up in pasticcerie all over Sicily, including the most famous, Maria Grammatico, located in beautiful hill-top Erice. Bring your sweet tooth to Sicily and you will always be happy.
