Saturday 10 pm tropical update: Marco and Laura ready to give Louisiana 1-2 punch

Louisiana's southeast coastline is bracing for a 1-2 punch from Marco and Laura - two tropical systems.

It looks like the two storms will approach southeast Louisiana from different directions but both come on land around the same area. Marco is slated to strike Louisiana's coast sometime Monday, while Laura will hit sometime Wednesday - giving southeast Louisiana several consecutive days of heavy rain and gusty winds.

Hurricane Watches are in effect for much of southeast Louisiana including New Orleans ahead of Tropical Storm Marco.

Marco strengthened some on Saturday but remains a tropical storm as of Saturday night. The center of the small storm has entered the southern Gulf of Mexico and will be drawn to the north and eventually northwest.
