Hood Eats aims to highlight different neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, introduce you to a new food review, and give you statistics all about the neighborhood! Today I head to the far south side of Chicago to the south shore neighborhood. Throughout the early 1900's this was a Jewish, German, Swiss, African American and Irish neighborhood. It remand a middle class neighborhood up until the early 1990's when the Chicago Housing Authority began knocking down the projects and relocating residents to surrounding neighborhoods. The south shore neighborhood received more residents then any other neighborhood in the city. It became know for its infamous four block by four block section known as terror town in-between 75th and 79th through Colfax and Yates. We headed to Baba's Steak and Lemonade for some amazing philly cheese steaks and frozen lemonade! Enjoy this episode of hood eats with us!
