Cromer Windmill (Hertfordshire) 2018
Cromer Windmill is the only surviving windmill in Hertfordshire. The large wooden body of the Mill is balanced on a huge Main Post, over 18ft high, around which it turns to allow the shuttered sails to face the wind. It stands on a spot where windmills have stood for 325 years, built originally in 1681, and rebuilt in 1860. Preservation started in 1967 and after the first phase, it was presented to Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust, its present owners. The Mill is situated at TL 304 287 and has restricted opening times. More info at http://www.cromerwindmill.co.uk/
