Schistosomiasis (Bilharzia)– an overview

Schistosomiasis is a tropical disease caused by a group of parasitic worms. It has an interesting life-cycle involving freshwater snails and can cause short term and long term disease. Schistosomiasis is classified as a neglected tropical disease and affects some of the poorest countries in the world.
