Worst Spider-Man Villain Ever + 7 Must-Read Comics!
Marvel created the dumbest Spider-Man villain in years—and then tried to explain everything after he died.
Marvel Comics drops one of the strangest follow-ups in recent memory with Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral – Body Count, finally attempting to explain Torment after the event already ended. Instead of clarifying anything, the issue highlights just how broken this character and story were from the start. The motivation is all over the place, the logic doesn’t hold up, and it raises serious questions about how this ever made it through editorial in the first place.
Thankfully, not everything this week is a disaster. After a brutal stretch, DC and the indie scene actually deliver multiple books worth recommending. From Geiger continuing to build momentum, to Absolute Batman leaning into its strongest elements, and several genuinely fun surprises, this week proves there are still comics worth your time—just not from Marvel.endations, there are still comics this week that deliver real value.
