It was time to upgrade the ol' Monitor. 24" was feeling small, 1080 was feeling cramped and the TN panel was not giving me the colours I knew I should be seeing. As I like to teach.. don't upgrade unless all your boxes are checked and this Acer VG271U met them all for a great price.
I still want to do more adjustments, but I share here Day 1 with a new monitor how much can be accomplished with the a calibration tool like the Spyder from Datacolor.
I felt pretty good about the quality of the photos taken of the monitor but they are still subject to the camera's exposure metering system and how it reads the scene, I found the monitors looked slightly better than the photos represented but at least this is a fair playing field as they are all unedited.
