U-Haul plows through Iran protest in LA, crowd swarms truck

A crowd swarmed a U-Haul after its driver sped through a protest in Los Angeles where people were demonstrating in support of those protesting in Iran. One person was hit by the truck, but according to police was not seriously injured.

Police cars surrounded the truck, with ABC7 news helicopter footage showing officers trying to keep the crowd at bay as some protesters tried to attack the driver.

The driver, a man who was not identified, was detained “pending further investigation,” police said in a statement Sunday evening.
