Joe Biden has been the 'cheerleader for communist China' for decades

Vice President Mike Pence has levelled a sticking attack at Joe Biden declaring the Democrat "has been a cheerleader for communist China over the last several decades".

The critically important first US vice presidential debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris has concluded with the two having squared off in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Vice President Pence took aim at both the records of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden during the debate.

"When Joe Biden was vice president, we lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs and President Obama said they were never coming back," Mr Pence said.

"In our first three years after we cut taxes, rolled back regulation, unleashed American energy, this administration saw 500,000 manufacturing jobs created," Mr Pence said.
