Finding Uckfield’s Lost Railway

In 1858, The Lewes and Uckfield Railway company built their first station in Uckfield just south of the Uckfield High Street as part of a plan to build a link between Lewes and Uckfield. This line was called 'The Wealden Line'. The station was later turned into a through station when the Wealden line was extended up to Tunbridge Wells and then onto London. Unfortunately disaster struck in 1969 when the Wealden line was forced to closed due to the Beeching cuts.

Join me as I explore what is left of the Old station and find out about what happened to the station and its Goods Yard after the line closed and how it effected the local community.
