Sisters & Sages Episode #3: Dr Vandana Shiva at Navdanya
Welcome to Sisters & Sages! In these interviews, I share up close and personal conversations with enlightening teachers, scrumptious sisters and inspiring sages in order to share with you their divine inspiration, the power of soul connection, the beauty of these extraordinary people and the beauty that is everywhere all around, all the time.
Today I am interviewing Dr. Vandana Shiva, physicist, ecological warrior, and founder of Navdanya, a national movement to protect the diversity and integrity of living resources – especially native seed – and to promote organic farming and fair trade.
For last two decades, Navdanya has served more than 500,000 men and women farmers and conserved more than 3000 rice varieties from across India. The organisation has established 60 seed banks in 16 states across the country.
Dr. Shiva combines sharp intellectual enquiry with courageous activism. Time Magazine called her an environmental “hero” and Forbes Magazine identified Dr. Shiva as one of the Seven Most Powerful Women on the Globe.
In this interview, Dr. Shiva shares her message for the world: to not despair, to not internalize fear and hate, to not feel an artificially crated scarcity for a few people to grab but for all of us to be engaged in healing the earth and ourselves and through it rejuvenating abundance for all.
