Saint Batman Origin - This Twisted Batman Removed Bruce Wayne's Limbs, Leaving Just His Head Alive

Over the years, many a comic book luminary has had a go at exploring just how much abuse Bruce Wayne’s psyche can take. Jim Starlin turned Batman into a mindless, drug-addled occultist under the control of the heretic Deacon Blackfire, whose “crusade against crime” used Bruce as its primary (and lethal) weapon. Doug Moench took a deep dive into the “bat” aspect of Wayne’s crime-fighting persona, revealing to us the horrors that a true vampiric Batman could unleash upon the world. But the scariest stories (and versions) of Bruce Wayne’s paranoia-riddled, hyper-pragmatic outlook on human society exists in the Dark Multiverse. Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo transformed DC by introducing it to its worst nightmare. The duo has made Batman embrace the terror gauntlet, acquainting us with versions of the Dark Knight that we hope we had never meet. From the Destructive War God called The Merciless to the sickening machinations of the Batman Who Laughs, every version of Bruce Wayne originating from the dark side is down-right spine-chilling; and perhaps none more so than Batman the Broken. Introduced in the Tales of the Dark Multiverse one-shot that re-imagines one of the Caped Crusader’s most-iconic storylines, this is a version of Batman who has been disfigured beyond repair; and we mean that literally. But what happens when you piece him back together? Does he revert to what he was before? Or become something entirely else? Those are the questions this video will try to answer.
