The 2018 Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 210.32.42.20.01.001 is encased in 42mm of stainless steel surrounding a black wave dial on a black rubber strap.

The 2018 Omega Seamaster Diver 300M in black is a core model in a lineup of Baselworld 2018’s most warmly received dive watch collection. Descended directly from the original 1993 Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M, the new Omega 210.30.42.20.03.001 is the variant that watch buyers and watch collectors have anticipated more than any other Omega watch of 2018.

Now sized 42mm rather than its predecessor’s 41mm, the Diver 300M has been upgraded with a factory bracelet whose end links pivot; the enlarged Seamaster Diver 300M now wears more easily on a small wrist than its 41mm predecessor. A black natural rubber diving strap has been designed expressly for this model and includes a new pin buckle profile with satin and polished steel facets.

The Omega Seamaster Professional helium release valve has been reprofiled with a conical form and upgraded with the newfound ability to open safely while submerged. A black ceramic diving bezel insert features white enamel inlays and unidirectional ratcheting action for safety during dives. The “Omega Wave” dial from the Pierce Brosnan era of James Bond Omega Seamasters has returned, and Agent 007 no doubt would approve of Omega’s use of laser-engraved black ceramic for peerless shine and ageless durability. The new date window at six o’clock better balances the dial, and slightly reprofiled skeleton hands recall the 1990s Seamaster Professional 300M chronometer of James Bond fame.

Inside the case, a new Omega co-axial Master Chronometer automatic caliber can be viewed through the Seamaster Diver 300-meter’s first series-production sapphire display caseback. The METAS-based Master Chronometer certificate includes all of the COSC Swiss chronometer testing thresholds but adds extra tested timing positions, fully-cased evaluations of performance, and verification of power reserve, winding efficiency, anti-magnetic resistance, and water resistance.

The Omega Si14 silicon hairspring ensures immunity to magnetic fields in excess of 15,000 Gauss. The Omega caliber 8800 employs the now time-tested George Daniels co-axial escapement for improved precision, reduced maintenance requirements, and extended power reserve; the 2018 Seamaster Diver 300M offers 55-hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, and helium escape valve. The watch also measures 13.8mm in thickness and 49.7mm from lug-to-lug.
