This is our first time trying Filipino food! This week’s video was actually filmed before our previous two - while we were staying in town but it was after the quarantine started here in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. Unfortunately our options are severely limited since the majority of restaurants in El Nido are closed because of the lockdown/quarantine.

Since Trevor has a pass to go out and get provisions he heads out on his own, along the beach in El Nido to one of the only restaurants that are open! They only have a limited number of Filipino dishes on their menu, so we get what we can.

We end up with three dishes. Chicken Adobo which is one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines and a must-try while here. The other two are both noodle dishes. One is called Pancit Canton which is a lot like chow mien or Lo main (Chinese pan fried noodles) we got the vegetarian version. The other is called Bihon Guisado which is made with rice noodles, vegetables and chicken.

Lastly we found a sweet treat at a bakery that open. It’s a type of sweet bread called Ensaymada.
