Monarch 16" Lathe Restoration 7: Clearing Oil Lines
While getting the saddle ready for scraping, I discovered a blocked oil line where someone had broken a drill bit off in a hole. To solve the problem, we used a carbide end mill to mill the top of the broken bit flat and then used a carbide ball endmill to drill through the hard drill bit and open the hole back up. We next went on to work on opening up that oil passage as well as cleaning out some other oil lines using compressed air.
