Offered as RPO FX3, the C4 Corvette Selective Ride Control System was installed on over 30,000 Corvettes from 1989-1995 and at $1695 was one of the most expensive options at the time.

Watch as I talk about the development of active suspension systems from the 1950's to today, and how the Corvette engineers even went so far as to build a 1990 ZR-1 active suspension prototype before settling on the semi adaptive system FX3 ride control, which eventually paved the way for the 4th generation of the Magnetic Ride suspension in use on the C8 Corvette today. I also identify the individual components of the system, and highlight the most common failure points and how to address them.
