‘War on law enforcement in the US’: Trump accuses Biden of siding with rioters
United States President Donald Trump has claimed Democratic nominee Joe Biden and rioters “are both on the side of the radical Left”.
As Black Lives Matter protests and riots continue in many American states ahead of the November election, the President accused Mr Biden of blaming police and law enforcement for the violence and anarchy playing out in Democrat cities.
Speaking about a recent speech given by Mr Biden, President Trump said “he didn’t mention the far Left … or Antifa thugs, but mostly seemed to blame the police and law enforcement".
“For months Joe Biden has given moral aid and comfort to the vandals, repeating the monstrous lie that these were peaceful protests,” he said.
“They keep using the term ‘peaceful protest’ … and behind the reporters, cities are burning”.
The President said the solution to the violence was to allow federal troops to shut down protests, jail lawbreakers and support law enforcement officers.
He claimed Mr Biden and Kamala Harris had instead acted in the opposite spirit urging supporters to bail rioters and looters out of jail.
“There’s a war on law enforcement in this country and without law enforcement, we wouldn’t have a country”.
“If you give the radical Left power, what you are seeing in Democrat-run cities will be brought to every city in this country”.
