Karen Siedenburg, the Young Artists Showcase 2021 Runner-up, created this ensemble number for the 2021 American Contemporary Skating Festival's ‘Weekend Ensemble Workshop’, where participants break into groups to workshop & learn choreography in 5 hours over the weekend.

Each year, as part of the American Contemporary Skating Festival, participants break into groups and workshop original ensemble pieces. On the final evening, they perform for a live audience, along with other @AmericanIceTheatre troupes, and solo numbers from finalists of the Young Artists Showcase. It’s a masterful demonstration of #contemporaryskating, and this year, tickets will be available for the public to attend. If you’re in the Boston area, the showcase will be held at Warrior Ice Arena on Sunday evening, June 12th (that’s two weeks from now!). It’s a must-see if you are even slightly interested in what artistic skating has to offer. I’m excited to attend the festival as a skater and participant, and I’ll be filming the showcase on Sunday.
