Performed back to back on January 26th,1969..they made their appearance hot on the heels of their hot hit,Crimson And Clover.Mony Mony was released March 1968 & did well making it to #1 in the UK & #3 in the US.The song was inspired by Tommy's view of a sign atop The Mutual Of New York building as seen from his Manhattan apartment that read 'M.O.N.Y. Billy Idol did a remake cover in 1981...as was normal on the big show,if 2 songs were being performed,the older song would be cut down for time.Mony was cut down by a minute,hence the performance footage from another show to fill in original song length.Crimson was released November 1968.It was originally a rough mix the band did for Roulette Records.A radio station leaked the song and it was an instant success.It spent 16 weeks on the US charts.It peaked at #1.This would become their best selling song as a band.
