In the film Arth (1982), Smita Patil portrayed Parveen Babi's role whereas Kulbhushan Kharbanda played Mahesh Bhatt. Shabana Azmi gave a stellar performance and was awarded the Filmfare and National award for Arth (1982). The music of Arth (1982) was given by Jagjit & Chitra Singh.
