In February 1978, five men-later known as the Yuba County

Five-went to watch a basketball game in California, USA. After the game, they were expected to drive back home. But they never made it.

A few days later, their car was found abandoned in a remote mountain area-far away from the route they were supposed to take.

The strange part?

The car was still functional.

It wasn't stuck.

There was no clear reason to leave it behind.

Months later, the bodies of four of the men were discovered in the mountains.

One of them was found inside a forest service trailer.

He had survived for weeks...

even though there were enough supplies inside to keep him alive longer.

But for some reason, those supplies were barely used. The fifth man was never found.

Investigators couldn't fully explain why they drove into the mountains...

or why they abandoned a working car...

or why they didn't use the food that could have saved them. To this day, the case remains one of the strangest mysteries in American history.
