Convert Petrol Generator to Gas Propane for FREE Conversion

We had a powercut in the village and an excellent opportunity for the petrol electric generator conversion to propane gas. The converting is very easy and very simple and the only tools you might need are a pair of pliers and a screwdriver. A great prepper project or piece of knowledge that may get you out of a fix at some point using existing common technology and an alternative fuel source.

The function of the carburettor is to mix air with petrol and squirt it into the engine as a mist, the spark plug ignites it and away it goes. A mist is very similar in some ways to a gas so in theory if you put gas in then it should also work, and it does!
Normally old fuel and dirt get into the carbs causing the jets to block, this generator also had fuel sitting in it for a while and it just didnt want to run.
I bypassed the carburettor by forcing it full open, just use one of the existing springs and then pop it on somewhere else. Then connect the pipe from the propane tank to the carburettor. Open slightly so its just hissing and give it a few pulls and see what happens. It doesnt need much gas at all.
