Saturated and Unsaturated.
Saturated hydrocarbons are those hydrocarbons in which carbon atoms are connected by single bond only.
Unsaturated hydrocarbons are those hydrocarbons in which carbon atoms are connected either double bond or triple bond. saturated hydrocarbons are are called alkanes whereas unsaturated hydrocarbons are called alkenes (having double bond) or alkynes (having triple bond).
