His Holiness Dala Lama's message to the people of Serbia

This is a fragment from my documentary “Freedom in exile”.
In October 2000 I visited Dharamshala, a village in north India
and had a chance to meet with His Holiness Dalai Lama mainly thanks to the fact that his German shepherd (shown in this video fragment) for whatever reason had shown great interest in me.
On the day His Holiness Dalai Lama and I met - October 6, 2000, the news from Serbia reached the world: the overthrow of the Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.
Many in Serbia believed that the country had entered a new era, an era of democracy and freedom… However, the corruption of the political leaders who have come after Slobodan Milosevic to this very day has proven to be an obstacle that the people of Serbia have yet to overcome…
