I bought a 2011 iMac for just $25 and decided to install Linux Mint Cinnamon on it to see if it’s still usable in 2025 — and whether it could actually be a daily driver.

In this video, I’ll walk through the full installation process, first impressions, customizations, and performance tests. From fixing missing icons to adding a macOS-style dock, trying background sounds, exploring extensions, and even ripping an old CD, I’ll cover what it’s really like to use Linux Mint as a complete beginner.
