Pakistan energy crises. A failed energy policy for the past 20 years results in iron clad agreements with IPP's resulting in astronomical electricity bills for consumers , solar panels import on a massive scale and green meters allowed for wealthy residential consumers. 40000 mega watt installed capacity and 20000 average monthly consumption in the country with another 10000 megawatts solar panels installed in the next 5 years. Pakistanis as always confused and cornered.
This is evident that industry cannot run at the current energy cost and residential consumers cannot afford the price of electricity but at the same time Pakistan does not have the foreign reserves to import billions worth of solar panels and inverters to add to the already installed energy capacity. Sane heads should prevail and a unified energy policy should be implemented after taking on board all stakeholders.
