Lovebird Roseicollis Aviary - November 2022
The lovebirds are doing their daily activities as usual. We shot this video in November 2022. We hope you and your little parrot friends enjoy it.
---------------------------------------------
Someone asked us why the vegetables for the birds were put on the bottom, where there were lots of insects. Actually, we've put insect repellent chalk around the cage and in places that the birds in the cage can't reach, but these insects do reproduce quickly. These insects grow behind piles of grain husks left over from the lovebirds' food, which we deliberately leave to absorb the droppings of these birds. It was an accidental concept, because at first we put sand as bedding in our cages, which was meant to absorb bird droppings, and also the birds used to consume sand to help their digestion. As time went on, a lot of leftover grain husks fell and piled up on the bottom of the cage, and we didn't think about that, because of course it could also absorb bird droppings.
But it's a bit strange, because we don't see many insects in the java sparrow (finch) aviary. It's possible that the java sparrows ate it, just like they eat meal worms which are also found in the lovebird aviary. Lovebirds don't like to eat insects, maybe they eat insects but if they are in the form of powder. And it's common in animal feed mixtures.
In the end we will clean up the pile of hides, of course to reduce the number of insects in these cages. And we hope the birds also stay healthy and stay clean. We put the food for these birds on top, and we always give fresh vegetables to these birds, we also put it on top. Although later there are some that will fall to the bottom, and they still eat it, and it's been going on for more than 2 years. And this time we tried to put these fresh vegetables on the bottom of the cage. We just did this this month.

We make videos about bird sounds, especially lovebirds. We have a huge collection of those videos, and we also have a huge library of those sounds. Please visit our youtube channel to see our collections. Many people use our videos to entertain or just accompany their parrot friends. There are also some who use it to attract other parrots or other birds. It has been done by several people, they tell it in the comments section of our videos.
