[Drum Cover] The Flys - Got You (Where I Want You) (Drumless Backing Track)

Ok, 3 months in a row where my choice of songs to cover have been very simplistic but there is a good reason for this one. A while back, my buddy Frank challenged me to play a song not exactly like the original. That's difficult for me because if I do a drum cover of a song, I know it pretty darn well, and will be influenced by what I already know. So I needed to find a song that I've heard before but don't know too well. That's a little tough because I listen to my music library a lot.

I was watching a movie and this song came on in one of the scenes. I knew the song, I like the song, but I don't know it too well. Perfect! This also gave me a great idea for the ending segment too (if you watch all the way to the end). So I went to work. The first half of the song is a 1:1 match with the original, but the second half of the song is totally ad-libbed. I went with what I was feeling at the time and made up my own drum fills. I even left some timing issues in to give it the all natural feel.
