Hurricane Paulette intensifying as it approaches Bermuda

The latest in a long line of land-affecting storms continues with Hurricane Paulette, which is likely to cause impacts in Bermuda tonight and especially tomorrow morning. The storm is currently holding winds of 80mph, and is likely to intensify further as it closes in the 200 miles of ocean before reaching the island.

Paulette is likely to continue steadily intensifying as wind shear slackens, and become a major hurricane after passing Bermuda. However, it appears that Paulette should miss the Atlantic coast of North America. Eventually, the storm could reach the Azores or Europe as a post-tropical cyclone.
