Frozen Shoulder Exam - Patient Evaluation

Frozen shoulders otherwise known as adhesive capsulitis can be quite common and a very stubborn shoulder problem to treat. Frozen shoulders are hard to identify at first. They usually start with a slow onset and very painful at first. There will be a progressive loss of motion most always in all motions. As the inflammation around the shoulder joint decreases, the shoulder joint becomes stiffer.
👉It is important to make sure the shoulder isn't arthritic which can make it look like a frozen shoulder.
👉People who are susceptible to frozen shoulders are diabetics, people with thyroid issues, folks of northern European decent. Women get this more than men and this occurs more in women around menopause.
