Painting a Classical Portrait: My Brother's Keeper"

Hello everyone! Something a little different this week! There are many lessons we can adopt into every area of our artistic journey. No matter what you like to paint, to learn to paint portraits will further enhance all your other areas of study. Simply the power of observation is essential to whatever you are studying, but there are some techniques that apply to portraiture, that when you adapt them to other venues of study, you will find those areas developing faster. I cover the essentials of drawing accuracy, how to make those corrections while painting, mixing skin tones, softening edges, capturing light and emotion plus more!

I loaded this video with a lot of useful information, not just for classical portrait painting, but with painting advice that you can use anywhere. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed creating it! Thank you for your support over the years and all your encouragement! Happy Painting!

If you'd like to learn more portrait painting, I have room in my workshop in Bishopville, South Carolina! I have other plein air workshops I think you'll enjoy looking into, as well.
