This Superintendent Should NOT Be In Charge Of Schools

Ryan Walters is a Superintendent in Oklahoma. At a recent school meeting, he said he refused to negotiate with the teacher's union because they were "a terrorist organization." That's right. He said that at a SCHOOL meeting in front of the teachers. Then just smiled wide at the shocked and disgusted noises coming from the audience.

He also made a recent announcement saying he was excited to get funding for public Catholic schools. You read that correctly. Public. Catholic. Schools. He claims this will somehow give students more freedom. I guess we're supposed to think kids in good public schools are forced to be half of a specific religion. That's the only thing more restrictive than forcing them to be a single religion that I can think of.

Of course Ryan had to throw in some wildly inaccurate claims about what is being taught in our schools. Can't miss out on a classic thing of the children fear mongering scheme. The lgbts are taking over, the democrats won't let them have bibles, there is corn being passed around constantly. All the same debunked nonsense we've heard a million times. Except this time it's coming from a man directly involved in setting the curriculum. So he absolutely MUST know he's lying. He knows what is and isn't in any class, but he chooses to spread the convenient lie.

It is so disgusting that this man has power over children's education. Honestly it's disgusting that adult teachers have to deal with this man too. I don't want to be too doom and gloom though. This man is an outlier. That is why he's interesting. People like him don't usually win elections and get power. This is exactly why we all need to get out to every election and vote. After you watch this video you can let me know if you'd be happy with him running your school district.

Don't lose hope. Don't get complacent. Vote every time you can. Remember that society always trends more progressive over time, not less.
