Ghost Stories after M.R. James

This is the introductory part of a discussion on the ghost story "after" M.R. James, held at the Halifax Ghost Story Festival in November 2012. I chaired the panel which included Ramsey Campbel, Joel Lane and Reggie Oliver. The aim here was to decide what makes a ghost story distinctly "Jamesian", so that we could identify his influence on other writers.
Apologies for the picture and sound quality -- it was filmed on a single, static camera from a rather acute angle, with the camera's own microphone in the rather echoey Crossley Gallery at Dean VClough, Halifax.
