The Internet Live Streamer Dilemma

Streamer xQc has recently signed a two-year contract with Kick.com for a staggering 100 million dollars. This is, without a doubt, the largest streaming contract ever signed, dwarfing the second-largest by Ninja, which was 50 million dollars.

To put this into perspective, xQc is now earning more than LeBron James, who is the highest-paid player in the NBA with a two-year contract worth 97.1 million dollars. This is truly mind-boggling. And it's not just him, popular streamer Amouranth also signed a deal reportedly for 30 million dollars.

It's 2023 and streamers are making more money than professional basketball players. We are living in a digital gold rush, an Era of Millionaire Streamers. Why is this? How did this come to be? Is Twitch dying? Is YouTube or Kick the new place to live stream? How does Kick have millions of dollars to spend on online streamers? And most importantly why is this a surmountable mess for us viewers.
