Greater Flamebacks nesting in Kaeng Krachan National Park, Thailand

On this day, I staked out the nest site of a pair of greater flamebacks at Ban Krang Camp in Kaeng Krachan National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติแก่งกระจาน) and filmed the male and female visiting the nest throughout much of the day. It was interesting watching their different feeding styles. The male always flew onto the tree, fed the chicks, then immediately flew away from the nest hole. The female by contrast, often fed the chicks and then moved up to the top of the tree. She then stayed there for some time, looking around, and even calling on one occasion when the male had been absent for a long time.
