Scientific glass instruments
The parts shown here are called scientific glass instruments. I made them back in '90-'93, as part of training in the workshop of a research institute and includes the ones that were part of the exam period to obtain "A level" glass instrumentmaker. All made as required by the technical specification and drawing. These drawings show the accuracy needed for certain parts. The joints and valves are hand-made, ground by using carborundum slurry and copper cones in a rotational device.
Some of the instruments are on the "B level" of craftsmanship. Basically bigger parts, requiring skill and experience. The older techniques make it possible to do all the work without using lathes and/or a kiln.
