Step 1: Before you start, make sure you have all the necessary equipment at hand: Your iPhone 16, 16+, 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max, a compatible SD card and a USB-C hub or adapter.

Step 2: Insert the SD card into the USB-C to SD card adapter or hub with a SD card slot.

Step 3: Next, connect the USB-C end of the hub to your iPhone 16's USB-C port. You will see a blue icon in the iPhone 16's dynamic island to signify that something has been connected to the USB-C port.

However, you will not see any notification that the microSD has been connected successfully. You will need to confirm this physically.

Step 4: On your iPhone, navigate to the "Files" app. This is where you'll be able to manage your files. You can find the Files app on the home screen or simply swipe up and use the search function to find it.

Step 5: In the Files app, find the connected SD card, under the 'Locations' section, in the 'Browse' tab. Tap on it to open the contents.

Step 4: You can now copy files and folders to and from the SD card if it is in FAT32 format.

If the SD card is in NTFS format, then you can only copy files and folders from the SD card to the iPhone. However, you cannot copy anything at all from the iPhone to an NTFS SD card.

Step 5: After you're done using the SD card, you can now eject the it from your iPhone. Simply push it inwards to release it from the slot and then pull it out of the adapter. You can also simply pull the adapter out of the iPhone's port.
