A visit to McCain Valley and the hunt for Beryl gems. Despite the short distance the hike took longer than expected and it heated up early that morning. I only spent 10-15 minutes at the dig site and still found all these crystals. Beware all the hidden chollas spurs in the sand, you are likely to get stuck a few times, come prepared to limit how many times you get pricked. Not great for dogs or kids.
