Per a report from the Department of Labor, Another 803,000 Americans filed new unemployment claims last week. Congress passed the nearly $900 billion stimulus proposal yesterday night after months of stalemate. Although as of this update the stimulus package is still awaiting President Trump signatures. Mitch Mcconnell said after the approval that this is exactly what the country needs right now. After the approval Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi were happy with the outcome but also highlighted this is not the last stimulus check. There will be more help after Joe Biden starts his presidency. Joe Biden applauded the effort of senators, and added that this is not the last relief for american citizens, there are more to come in the new year. Stimulus checks of up to $600 per adult and $600 for child dependents will go to individuals making less than $75000 a year or couples making less than $150,000 a year. So a family of 4 will get $2400. Although this is not what President Trump thinks is enough. Yesterday night, he demanded Congress to increase the second stimulus check from $600 to $2,000. After President Trump comments on bigger stimulus checks, Nancy Pelosi tweeted at last, the President has agreed to $2,000 — Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent. Let’s do it. Will bring it for vote on christmas eve. Senator Bernie Sanders and Alexandaria ocasio cortez also came out in support of $2000 stimulus checks. Cortez also posted the amended text to be included in the bill to provide 2000 stimulus checks. See here.
