Construction Worker Fixes a Smashed Fingernail with Baking Soda and Superglue

How to fix a smashed fingernail using baking soda and superglue. It creates a comfortable fake nail that does a decent job of protecting the top of the finger until a new nail grows back in. It's cheap and tough - my favorite words.

Due to growth of the incoming nail, the fake nail I've created starts getting loose after about a week or two. I didn't have any problems trimming the old nail, or periodically adding more baking soda and superglue which I then sanded smooth and blended into the old nail. I don't know why folks bother going to a manicurist. If you've ever put together a model, or done any kind of woodworking, this is right in your wheelhouse!
