The Cuban photographer who snapped the iconic image of Che Guevara

The 50th anniversary of revolutionary Che Guevara’s death occurs on October 9th.

Half a century after his execution, he remains one of the most recognizable faces on earth thanks to a now-famous photograph of him taken by the Cuban photographer Alberto Korda.

The picture helped make the rebel fighter a legend across Latin America and the world. It has also made vast amounts of money for merchandising and tourism.

Alberto Korda himself, however, never earned a cent.

Correspondent Michael Voss tells us about the life of the man who made “Che” known around the globe. He also tells us how the iconic image came about.
