In this video, Doctor Andrea Furlan, will explain:
00:00 Introduction
01:01 What are the symptoms of central sensitization?
04:27 How does a person develop central sensitization?
13:14 Is there any test that can be ordered to confirm the diagnosis?
14:46 how to get rid of central sensitization.
Central sensitization is a condition that affects many people with chronic pain. The person feels like brain fog, difficulty to concentrate, poor memory, low mood, low energy, fatigue and has pain in many parts of their body. This is common in people with fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome. Central sensitization is also present in people who have opioid-induced hyperalgesia.
The treatments involve mind-body therapies and movement (exercises).
