Meet OWL FLY SOUTH, a rock and roll four-piece from UCLA whose blazing songs stare you straight in the face and don’t look away until they come crashing to a close. Being that their driving yet ethereal sound is indebted to everyone from Bruce Springsteen and Arcade Fire to Tame Impala and Ty Segall, it is no surprise that the band’s energetic live shows deliver a unique and diverse listening experience.

One moment, they conjure up a storm of blistering garage rock fury. Soon after, you may find yourself floating suspended in waves of psychedelic ambient guitar sound. Moments later, you are bouncing to Beatles-esque pop fit for a summer sunset. All the while, your inner ear is gleefully taking in melodies and hooks galore, while singer/songwriter/guitarist Braeden Henderson’s heart-on-sleeve-sincere lyrics evoke picturesque stories of time, love, and the most universal human experience—death.

Echoed vocals, sweet mellotrons, fuzzy guitars, and pummeling drums combine to create Owl Fly South’s powerful rock and roll. These tunes are aimed skyward. The band is currently in the studio recording their self-produced debut full length with engineer Manny Nieto (The Breeders, HEALTH, Trash Talk).
