Fun fact- How did our raja/Maharaja's find out that its their chai time.
They must be having instruments to find it out. and much more than that.
Sun is a basic reference for time and Jantar mantar is one such great monument built in 5 cities in India. It can not only find out time but many more astronomical data. Its the world's largest sundial and clock.

Our Indian calendars were built on precise and accurate data from monuments and architectures like these. Indian science was way ahed of its time. Sadly, we just did not inherit the knowledge from our ancestors.
