How long to do EV batteries last? Lets look at a Hyundai Ioniq Electric at 89,000 miles.

In this video I have a look at our own Hyundai Ioniq Electric 28kWh that is now 5 years old and has done 89,000 miles. A scan of the battery pack shows it is still at 100% SoH, so I do a range and charge test to see how much the battery pack capacity actually is.
There is an assumption by many that EVs need new battery packs after 5 years. This 5 year old Hyundai Ioniq Electric still drives like a new one and also has the same battery capacity and range as it did when new!
