Johnny Littlejohn Chicago Slide Guitar Lesson

Johnny Littlejohn's 1969 Arhoolie release "Chicago Blues All-Stars" is a holy grail Chicago blues record-- vocals, guitar tone, the slide, stinging single notes, atmosphere and groove. It's a bar that hasn't been met since. His subsequent records are great as well, especially "Funky from Chicago" (featuring Eddie Taylor) and "So-Called Friends". Here's a look at his slide playing in open D and his single note lead playing, which picks up where Elmore James's standard tuning lead playing left off. If you have Johnny Littlejohn stories or memories, please leave them in the comments, I'd love to read them!
