Clarification: This video does not claim magnesium glycinate is proven to damage the liver. It raises a legitimate clinical/precautionary question based on multiple connected areas of evidence: menopause changes liver, cortisol, sleep and metabolic physiology; mineral amino-acid chelates are manufactured supplement forms designed to alter absorption and may be taken up through different pathways than some other mineral forms; long-term human data in this exact context are limited; and the liver plays a central role in handling amino-acid inputs from the gut.
Summary: There is no single paper proving magnesium glycinate causes liver damage — but when these dots are put together, they do support the “research suggests” and “what if” framing used in the video. This is a reasonable clinical question about long-term use of isolated chelated supplements during a liver-metabolic transition, not a claim of proven toxicity.
